West coast patent litigator Brenton Babcock joined Womble Bond Dickinson as a partner in its Orange County office. Babcock comes to the firm from Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear, and is known as a specialist in post-grant proceedings before the US Patent & Trademark office.

Womble Bond Dickinson is a result of the 2017 combination of UK firm Bond Dickinson and US firm Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice. The newly created firm’s footprint in the IP space saw a significant increase earlier in the year when it acquired renowned California boutique Blakely Sokoloff Taylor Zafman, adding 20 IP practitioners to the firm.
