Mr. Skiermont and his firm represent companies of all sizes in litigation involving complex science and technology, including pharmaceutical products and other life sciences, aerospace, telecommunications, speech recognition and consumer electronics.

Mr. Skiermont has substantial experience representing pharmaceutical companies in Hatch-Waxman patent litigation, and representing challengers to brand pharma patents before the Patent Trial & Appeal Board inter partes review proceedings. For example, Mr. Skiermont and his firm represent the Coalition for Affordable Drugs in IPR proceedings challenging brand pharma patents covering Ampyra®, Lialda®, and Revlimid®, and also represent Neptune Generics in its challenge against the brand pharma patent covering Alimta®. Mr. Skiermont and his firm have a remarkable track record of success challenging brand pharma patents. Specifically, the firm has petitioned the PTAB to review eight (8) brand patents listed in the Orange Book for four different drugs–and the PTAB instituted review against all 8 challenged patents.
Mr. Skiermont has also been lead counsel in Hatch-Waxman patent litigation for both brands and generics involving a number of different drugs, including YAZ®, Alimta®, Treanda®, and ella®. He and his firm also represent direct purchaser clients in pharmaceutical antitrust litigation arising from brand/generic settlements of Hatch-Waxman patent litigation, including In re Loestrin 24 FE Antitrust Litigation.
Mr. Skiermont earned his undergraduate degree with honors from the University of Kentucky. While an undergraduate, he was twice awarded FIRST PLACE SPEAKER at the Intercollegiate National Debate Tournament; one of only three people to win the award twice since the Tournament began in 1947. Prior to law school, Mr. Skiermont coached the undergraduate debate team at Harvard University. He earned his law degree from the University of Chicago with High Honors, Order of the Coif. After law school, he was a judicial clerk for the Honorable C. Arlen Beam, US Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
