William A Rakoczy

William Rakoczy is one of the founding partners of RAKOCZY MOLINO MAZZOCHI SIWIK LLP, a full-service intellectual property law firm, with a particular emphasis in litigation and counseling for the life science industry.   Mr. Rakoczy has over 20 years of experience serving as trial and regulatory counsel in a wide variety of high-stakes proceedings, including under the Hatch-Waxman Act and the BPCIA.

With a broad base of legal, technical, and business knowledge, Mr. Rakoczy has extensive experience at both the trial and appellate level litigating highly specialized patent infringement and related regulatory, commercial and related actions involving prescription pharmaceutical drugs and biologics. His representative cases include such blockbuster drugs as Copaxone® (glatiramer acetate), Lumigan® and Latisse® (bimatoprost), Axiron® (testosterone), Pulimicort Respules® (budesonide), Zymar® and Zymaxid® (gatifloxacin), Trizivir® (abacavir sulfate, lamivudine, and zidovudine), Nasonex® (mometasone), Altace® (ramipril), Paxil® (paroxetine), Razadyne® (galantamine) and Strattera® (atomoxetine), and many others.

Mr. Rakoczy also has significant experience representing pharmaceutical companies in regulatory matters before the FDA, involving a wide range of approval, review and market-exclusivity issues pertaining to ANDAs, section 505(b)(2) applications, NDAs, and BLAs.   He has handled numerous APA actions and emergency injunction proceedings involving the FDA and HHS at the federal trial and appellate level.
